"Better Than Ever" by P Chiefah

Whipping in the Kitchen & the Booth: Why P Chiefah is Miami’s Most Dangerous Double-Threat

Shertara Brazil December 27, 2025

In a city as competitive as Miami, standing out requires more than just a catchy beat—it requires a secret sauce. Enter P Chiefah, the culinary mastermind and lyrical heavyweight who is redefining what it means to be a dual-threat artist. As one of the driving forces behind Chiefah Gang, P Chiefah has spent years perfecting his craft in both the kitchen and the recording booth. Following the massive reception of his latest single, "Better Than Ever," he is preparing to plate his most ambitious project to date: the "B.T.E" EP, dropping today. We sat down with the 305’s finest to discuss how he balances the heat of the stove with the pressure of the mic, the evolution of his sound, and why this new era of his career is truly 'Better Than Ever.

Q: Your new single "Better Than Ever" just dropped. What was the specific moment or 'win' in your life that made you feel like you finally reached this 'Better Than Ever' status?

P CHIEFAH: Honestly speaking, I always knew I'd be a winner in different ways. When I wrote Better Than Ever, I was in a groove just feeling myself & giving self-praise. As I came up with the hook, I just applied it to life. "I'm better than ever, they know I'm a soldier ain't gotta tell 'em." I stand tall on the things I believe in, & I got a team to help support that.

Q: Most people choose one lane, but you’re a Master Chef and a Master Artist. How does the discipline of the kitchen translate to your work ethic in the studio?

P CHIEFAH: If I may, it's actually the other way around. I've been heavily involved in music since 12 learning how to play different instruments thanks to my big brother Travis Quinn (R.I.P.). The things he taught me when learning music such as discipline, dedication, drive, resilience & preparation all translated into the kitchen. So when I'm cooking I love to have music on to help me focus as well as adding love to the food. In my opinion, food & music compliment each other hence why at restaurants they have tunes playing in the background to set the mood for your meal.

Q: Give us the 'Chiefah's Choice': If you had to cook a celebratory dinner for any legendary rapper (dead or alive), who would it be and what are you serving them?

P CHIEFAH: The Chiefah's Choice, hmm, that's a nice title. I'd have to say maybe Lil Wayne, and the meal would be crunchy fried steak with white gravy, sweet potato yams, and collard greens.

Q: Chiefah Gang isn't just a group; it’s a brand. With Miami’s rap scene being more competitive than ever. How is Chiefah Gang carving out a lane that nobody else can touch?

P CHIEFAH: The brand itself is a lifestyle. We don't just smoke & chill; we call it Chiefah because we know how to operate while being stoned. Most people can't smoke a blunt and then go read a book, exercise, do some cleaning, or do anything productive. We've mastered being able to chain smoke and still cook a full-course meal, stay up and put in mad recording hours, go to the gym playing basketball—you name it, we can do it, all while being high. We're all chefs and artists, so the creative genius as a collective is already a force that people have to recognize. Plus, if I do say so myself, who else has a group like us out here, ya know?

Q: The "B.T.E" EP drops this Saturday. What’s the main message you want your fans to take away after they finish the final track?

P CHIEFAH: After you listen from top to bottom, the day 1 fans will resonate better because of the nostalgic lyrics in each song. I ordered the tracklist purposely to highlight my brothers. Chef Nesse dropped an EP back in November, so he's on the first track "Came Back." As you all finish the final track "Coming For Allat" ft. Ant The Great, I want the listeners to recognize how we still incorporated our previous titles into the wordplay while still keeping it fresh with new bars. Also, this EP is for "headphone listeners only," meaning if you only like the song because of the beat, then you won't understand my layout for each song.

Q: Which track on the new EP was the hardest to 'cook up'? Tell us the story behind the making of that song.

P CHIEFAH: The hardest track to cook up? Hmmm, maybe "Give No F***". I was writing 2 or 3 songs at the same time, but this one here I had to dig a little deep just to map it out. For me, the hook was the hardest part to come up with. The flow, delivery, and passion in my voice all had to make sense while still trying to do it my own unique way. There were a lot of things I realized I don't give a damn about, so the things that actually matter I'm going hard behind and about. And of course, having gang with me just puts another layer of fuel for me to finish the track out. Any song I write with more than one verse honestly can vary in the difficulty, just depends on what I want to say.

Q: What is one thing about P Chiefah that fans would never guess just by looking at your Instagram and any final thoughts?

P CHIEFAH: No one would be able to tell I'm actually very nature-friendly. Animals, trees, big bodies of water, swimming, fishing, there's not much about nature that I don't find some kind of fascination with. P Chiefah is not an ordinary person. He's exquisite, sharp, and a legend in the making. Y'all be sure to stay tuned into Chiefah Gang for new releases, visuals, merchandise & more. CheF Nesse "Obligations" EP out now on all platforms, Ant Tha Great ft Lim 305 "Overstep" out now on all platforms. CGE we on the way!
